PGA Tour pro Grayson Murray has finally shut down his Twitter account after a huge public backlash over the sacking of his caddie Mike Hicks mid round at the Wells Fargo.  The ending of the account may have been the straw that broke the camel's back as Murray has courted controversy over the past few weeks.

Maybe Grayson Murray had a genuine reason to sack Mike Hicks? Or not!

Then there was the creepy tweet to a teenager.

Murray hit the headlines again at the Wells Fargo for allegedly (he says he didn't) sacking legendary caddie Mike Hicks (yep the same man who caddied for Payne Stewart) mid round.

Mike Hicks has been with Murray through thick and thin, the Q-School and the Web.com Tour so something nuclear must have gone wrong to make Hicks remove his caddie bib and hand it to a friend of Murray outside the ropes to take over.

Shane Ryan is one of the few golf writers I generally listen to and he's clear that Murray is "a total dick".
