It has emerged this morning that Rory McIlroy also secretly used his own wedding to broker peace between his two friends but sworn enemies of each other; Sergio Garcia and Padraig Harrington.

The Spanish Irish conflict had been simmering for years, often heightened with shows of force from Garcia who it has long been thought possessed the better weaponry. All out war nearly broke out in 2003 when an incursion by Garcia saw him spit into the no mans land between Harrington's house and the grass verge on the road.

If sworn enemies like Sergio and Padraig can find it in their hearts to reconcile there's no reason why we cant solve our differences in Syria.
