Ayrshire finished seventh out of the 16 teams in the 2017 Scottish Boys Area team Championship, which was played at Stranraer on Sunday 18th June.
After the morning foursomes, when both pairings returned scores of 76, the team of Jack Broun (Turnberry) Euan Ferguson (Turnberry) Ewan Milligan (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Robbie Muir (Kilmarnock Barassie) were nine shots off the pace, but with four holes to go in the afternooon singles the team had battled back to give themselves a real chance of taking the title.
Unfortunately, the players dropped a few shots between them in the closing holes to drift six shots behind the winners from Lanarkshire.
