McCain Recall Hash Browns Contaminated With Golf Balls: Only In America!

Even I couldn't make this stuff up. McCain Foods USA announced yesterday it was voluntarily recalling hash brown products said to be contaminated with ......wait for it...... "golf ball materials."

If you look closely you can clearly see golf ball material in the hash browns.

Nobody really knows how the golf ball parts got into the potatoes but one of the more logical theories is that one of the potatoes fields ran alongside a golf course or driving range. Wayward golf balls landed in the field which was subsequently ploughed and re-sown causing the golf ball materials to end up in the potato harvest.

There is no risk of infection say authorities, the problem is a possible "choking hazard or physical injury from the golf balls fragments."
