WHS Senior Drake Kube won the inaugural Holly and Doug Brooks Foundation High School Invitational tournament held on Dec.6th at Stonebridge ranch country club.  This was a 27 hole event that invited some of the top teams from the area in a chance to compete against each other on a quality course to finish out the fall season.  A lot of the team struggled on a cold morning in which it was tough to get started, but Drake started strong and felt the pressure of contention throughout his round.  He was able to put up 9 hole scores of 37,38, and 37 to win the tournament by 1 stroke over a competitor from Trinity Christian Academy.  Coming down the stretch, without knowing exactly where he stood, he was able to make a beautiful up and down from short side on the tough 8th hole at the hills course and made a nice easy 2 putt par on the last to ensure that he didn't drop a shot in the last few holes to give him a chance to finish at the top.  It was a great tournament with plenty of perks for the players and one that we look forward to competing in for the next couple of years as well.
