The varsity boys team played in the Celina Invitational on Oct 25th at the Bridges golf club in Gunter, TX. This course is notable because it is where our team will return for the district championships in early April. The guys were interested in putting up a good showing for this one as they were taking on some of our district competition that we will see again down the road. They didn't disappoint as they easily came away with the championship as they shot a score of 316 which was 9 strokes ahead of the second place team from Lone Star. The team was led by Freshman newcomer, Shahryar hamza, as he shot a great round of 2 over, 74, in his first taste of varsity action for the wolverines. Hudson Hicks shot a 78 and Tucker Gressett followed with a 79 to put 3 wolverines in the 70's for the tournament. Colby Scherer came in with a grinded out score of 85 to round out our scoring and ensure that our score of 316 would be good enough to claim the championship. Up next, our boys and girls will take part in the Frisco Cup at Frisco Lakes, then play in the Brooks Invitational at Stonebridge to round out the fall semester.
